Jackson, Union County Habitat for Humanity Dedicates Home
What: New Homeowner Dedication
Where: 311 S. Cedarview Dr., Carbondale, IL 62901
When: November 11, 2023, 12 pm (CST)

Details: Jackson-Union County Habitat for Humanity plans to dedicate a recently reno-
vated home to its newest homeowner, Sabrina Reidelberger, at noon on November 11,

2023. The home was originally donated to the organization by Imogene Beckemeyer
and work began this spring on renovating the property for a potential new homeowner.
The organization normally builds one home per year, and this was the first time a home

has been renovated. The volunteer work crew replaced the roof, repaired soffits, recon-
figured the walls, replaced plumbing, and rewired the house. Additionally, they built a

kitchen and bathroom, painted, replaced flooring and a large window, repaired siding,
and a host of other things. The dedication of this home is a celebration of the group’s
work to provide decent and affordable housing for area residents. The organization’s
success is built on the volunteer work and donations of public residents and businesses
and illustrates the strength of our community.
Donations:
• Imogene Beckemeyer – donation of the home
• Gurley and Son, Anna, Illinois – repaired, cleaned and serviced heating and air
• UA Local 160 Plumbers & Pipefitters Apprentice Programs under the leadership
of Brad Thies & Josh Stanley – reworked all plumbing to meet Illinois State code
• Murphysboro Electric (Julio Garcia) – rewired the home for cost of materials
• Greenville Prison Cabinet Program under the leadership of Nicholas Tripp - built
cabinets
• FWS Countertops (Al Kuczynski) - countertops provided at cost

About:
Jackson, Union County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit group made up of friends
and neighbors in the two-county area that have banded together to make affordable
housing a reality. The Jackson-Union County Habitat for Humanity affiliate supports and
abides by the principles of Habitat for Humanity, International. The organization’s work

is accomplished through the contributions in materials and labor of community volunteers to build approximately one home per year. We also have a minor repair program

for homeowners who need assistance. Anyone interesting in contributing to the mission

of the organization through service
