Splattered Ink is a fast growing, young, web development company. We currently have a position open for a front-end developer. Working at Splattered Ink requires a can-do attitude, passion for web technologies, HTML/CSS development and debugging experience, and some Javascript and jQuery knowledge. Previous experience with large scale CMS's, Joomla, or MVC architecture is a plus.
Required Skills
Comfortable working within a team of designers & back end developers.
Able to provide clear and consistent communication on project status with the rest of the design & development team.
Be able to understand and meet design requirements passed along by other team members within project management.
Strong working knowledge of Adobe CS3, 4, or 5 Photoshop & Illustrator; able to interpret and pull graphics from comps passed from the design team.
Developing with speed, flexibility, and priority in mind.
Strong CSS skills; knowledge of how to appropriately use CSS to provide cohesive design semantics, unobtrusive styling, and quicker page rendering.
Able to develop maintainable, scaling, and cross-browser friendly code across fully deployed, regularly trafficked sites.
Familiar with source control principles and comfortable with CVS, SVN, git, or Mercurial (we use git).
In-depth knowledge of IE 7, 8 quirks and how to address them.
Working knowledge of CSS, DOM, and Javascript browser debugging tools.
Able to at least interpret Javascript and jQuery code and make minor edits to JS behaviors.
Bonus Skills
Experience developing with jQuery or other Javascript libraries.
Social App Development - Experience in building social-based sites or applications (integrating Facebook, user management, comment systems, etc.)
Experience creating email newsletters.
Experience developing under Joomla 1.5 ? 2.5.
